IMOS Elects New Officers

The IMOS General Assembly and elections took place on Saturday, May 17 during which a new Chairman was chosen.

After 15 years of service, long-time Chairman, Thomas Lippert, decided not stand for re-election. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, the assembly appointed him Honorary Chairman.

The members elected Rufin Schullian as the new Chairman, supported by Veiko Brandt as Vice Chairman and Peter Leinemann as Treasurer.

Thomas Lippert has had a lasting impact on IMOS over the past decade and a half. He played a key role in the founding of AICO (Association Internationale des Collectionneurs Olympiques), contributing significantly to the development of its statutes. He also transformed the IMOS newsletter from a basic loose-leaf publication into a professional, full-color journal, regularly enriching it with expert articles on modern Olympic and sports philately. His articles were also often printed in other magazines.

The IMOS community looks forward to continuing to benefit from Lippert’s vast knowledge – and to reading more of his engaging and informative contributions in future editions.

The AICO Executive Board warmly thanks Thomas for all his contributions to AICO and the Olympic collecting community.

We are also proud that the new Chairman of IMOS is also a member of the AICO Executive Board. We congratulate Rufin — our AICO Treasurer — and look forward to continuing our valuable collaboration with our IMOS friends (Germany).
