The Olympic Cartography: From Ancient Roots to Contemporary Insights

At the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, faculty and students have devoted their efforts to exploring various themes connected to the Olympic and Paralympic Games. A multidisciplinary group was established to showcase their research and findings through maps. The project, “The Maps of the Games,” aims to shed light on topics ranging from Ancient Greece (including the Panhellenic Games and the participation of women) to contemporary issues, offering insights into the captivating world of the Olympics.

Pimenta Felipe

Felipe Pimenta is a Luso-Brazilian now based in Europe, holding a master’s degree in sustainable development. In Brazil, he was involved in Rotary International’s Youth Programs for over 20 years, during which he began collecting Rotary memorabilia and stamps. In 2016, he had the opportunity to participate in the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games. One of his collections focuses on Brazilian Olympic stamps.
 
Felipe coordinated the Photographic Exhibition: 4 Senses and 1 Vision as part of his role at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, with the support of organizations such as AICO, INJA-Louis Braille, and FORMASUP Paris IDF.
