Das LZ 129 als Olympiabotschafter

The exhibit is dedicated to the airship LZ 129 ‘Hindenburg’, which was put into service in March 1936. The government provided 3500 RM to apply the Olympic rings to the outer skin.
Since then, it has travelled the North and South Atlantic as an Olympic ambassador. A special focus is the Olympic voyage on 1 August 1936, the day of the opening of the Olympic Summer Games.
