It is with great regret that we announce that on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, our friend, athlete and philatelist Jarda Petrásek left our ranks.

For many years he was the soul of OLYMPSPORT, its chairman from 1985 to 2018, and since 2018 its honorary chairman. He was among the most important philatelic collectors in the world, especially in the field of Olympic and sports philately. His contribution to Olympic collecting was rewarded with the J.A.Samaranch medal, which he received from IOC Member, J.A. Samaranch Jr., in 2012 as the first philatelist recipient in the world.

We will offer a detailed reminder of his merits in philately and also personal memories in the next issue of the Olympsport Newsletter.
