This traditional exhibit presents the philately of the 1944 Olympic Jubilee held in Lausanne, Switzerland. To mark this occasion, Switzerland issued a set of three stamps depicting the Greek god, Apollo in three denominations (10c, 20c and 30c) designed by Maja Allenbach of Bern. The exhibit first focuses on the basic issue including its printing on two distinct paper types, multiples and plate and color varieties. Included are two trial color proofs of the the 30c value in issued colors of the 10c and 20c issue. As the Olympic Jubilee series was available in three denominations, the exhibits then showcases usages including scarce registered and airmail usages. Also featured in this exhibit are commemorative postcards, mobile post bus cancels, and special machine cancel.
