A thematic presentation of the cancelled games of the XIIth Olympiad in 1940. The games were initially awarded to Tokyo but were cancelled due to Japan’s involvement in the Sino-Japanese War. The games were then awarded to Helsinki but were ultimately cancelled due to the Winter War with Russia. The exhibit includes covers from the various organizing committees, promotional covers, commemorative meters from Finland, and essays of stamps proposed to be issued.
